Jerez Mitchell, Ph.D. is a professional psychologist and mental health advocate. She serves as the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for creating, planning, implementing, and integrating the strategic direction of Southern Conduits’ services. She is originally from Texas and has Bahamian roots. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Spelman College and earned her Master’s degree and Doctorate of Philosophy degree in Counseling Psychology from Howard University. Dr. Mitchell provides mental health and wellness services for children, adolescents, and adults. She has worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, the community mental health sector, superior courts, college counseling, and private practices. Outside of enjoying life with her husband and son, Jerez enjoys playing volleyball, attending the orchestra, and relaxing at the beach.
John Mitchell is a Lowcountry native that takes pride in carrying on a legacy of community leadership and connectedness. He is a multi-passionate professional with nearly 20 years of experience in business development, image consulting, community advocacy, civic engagement, political advisement, meeting production, facilitation, and Equity & engagement strategy. John loves place-making and works to create safe space in decision-making processes that involve him. His commitment to service is exhibited through his work as a Deacon at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, service on the boards of the Charleston Area Urban League, Charleston Moves, and Morehouse Lowcountry Alumni Association. His devotion to the above is only second to his purpose as a husband, father, son and friend. John enjoys being an eternal student, specifically on the topics of history, politics, and religion – and thrives in engaging conversations and fellowship.
